How to choose
Light is fast
Attackers sprint into space. The lightest boots, like a knit upper with a carbon plate, help you feel quick off the mark.
A clean strike zone
A grippy area on the boot where you strike the ball helps with power and swerve.
Keep guards light
You still get tackled. Light guards protect you without slowing you down.
Practise finishing
Strikers score in training first. Your own ball means you can practise shooting any day.
Questions players and parents ask
What boots are best for strikers?
Strikers usually choose the lightest boots with a clean striking zone and firm ground studs. Juniors should put comfort and fit first, because a boot that fits well is faster than a light boot that rubs.
Do attackers need shin guards?
Yes. All players need shin guards in matches and most clubs require them. Attackers often pick light slip-in guards.
How can my child practise shooting at home?
Use a training ball and a wall or a small goal. Practise with both feet, aim for the corners and keep the ankle locked when you strike.
