How to choose
Pick the right size
Size 3 is for under-8s, size 4 for about 8 to 12 years and size 5 for 12 and over. Size 1 is a mini ball for skills.
Match or training ball
Thermo-bonded match balls fly more predictably. Machine-stitched training balls are tough and made for lots of use.
Keep it pumped
Check the pressure each week. A butyl bladder holds air longer.
Practise every day
Ten minutes of touches a day builds a great first touch faster than one long session a week.
Questions players and parents ask
What size football should my child use?
Under-8s usually use size 3, children about 8 to 12 use size 4, and players 12 and over use size 5. Check your club's rules too.
What is the difference between a match ball and a training ball?
A match ball is built for accuracy and feel, often with thermo-bonded panels. A training ball is built to last through hundreds of sessions on any surface.
Is a mini football good for skills?
Yes. A size 1 mini ball is small and soft, so it is great for keepy-uppies, dribbling and footwork practice indoors.
